While the possibility to love God freely and obey His commands using our free will which was granted to us as a gift by our loving creator, God knew that the opposite was also possible and inevitable.
“See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction.”
Deuteronomy 30:15
As the famous author C.S. Lewis says in his book Mere Christianity Chapter 3 “of course God knew what would happen if they used their freedom the wrong way, apparently He thought it worth the risk.
“Why then did God give them free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having.”- C.S. Lewis
