About

Hey guys we thought it may be helpful to some who are new to Critical Thinking Aloud to give alittle information about us.

How did we start C.T.A.

The journey to Critical Thinking Aloud started years ago when my wife and I embarked on a journey to sell everything in America, board a plane across the world to live in the Asia Minor, to work in and live amongst the locals, to tell them about Jesus, and how awesome He is.

That was over 7 years ago now and ultimately that is where our ministry that Critical Thinking Aloud came from. Our goal for moving here was to see a local congregation established and flourish in this land. That took some time obviously and not with out a lot of heart ache and toil but in the end God proved faithful as he always does and not only one but several church came into fruition. Praise Jesus!

In the fall of 2016 my wife and I felt led to take over a small church in a little farming town 45 minuets away from where we live. Since then it has developed into a blossoming community of believers known as the Mavi Church. It has been a blessing and great joy of ours to develop leaders and serve the local body in any way we can (which sometimes meant doing everything).

The Pandemic of 2020

If is not new news to anybody that in 2020 we as the Mavi Church along with the rest of the world, were faced with some major changes as the covid-19 pandemic broke into full force. We took our meeting online where every Sunday our community would gather as virtual body worshiping the Lord Jesus.

Content, Content, Content,

During this time we felt called to produce as much content as we could which turned out to be an amazing amount. Thanks to the help of a couple of dear family friends who we were blessed to have by our side during this unusual time, for 11 weeks or so we had daily live streams on Face Book including worship and bible study that took us through the books of 1st Samuel, 2nd Samual, and The Book of Acts.

This was a beautiful time of growth for the english side of the Mavi Church where we were now able to through the newly started live streams reach people who were interested from all over the globe. Like everything in life this season drew to an end as restrictions from the initial out break of the pandemic loosed up.

A more sustainable goal

While shooting live streams everyday was a massive blessing to all of us involved, it was also a lot of work. As one of the leaders of the live stream was getting ready to head back to the states, we had to reassess our ability to produce such a massive amount of content with a dwindling team. The decision as finally made to scale down that which we were producing in order to maintain a more sustainable goal.

We at the Mavi Church value thought provoking teaching, that drives us farther into the scriptures, with the hope that we would have a deeper understand of what it is that the bible is communicating its readers.

While shooting the content of 1 and 2 Samual, and The Book of Acts, Jon and I would spend time after each live stream discussing what stood out to us as interesting or that which was previously unnoticed by us. This is where the idea behind Critically Thinking Aloud was birthed.

The next step

Having compiled a list of interesting topics we had discussed off camera Jon and I came up with a plan to do a live stream twice a week covering these various topics in a question and answer format. This seemed to be a hit among the viewers.

Since then we have been running with the current topics in the question and answer format when everything alines, and a devotional covering the same topics when both Jon and I cannot be present.

It is a joy and a great pleasure to be able to cover biblical topics which hopefully the viewers will find helpful and inspiring in their own bible studies. We could talk about the bible all day everyday and we are excited to bring more content to you in the future.

Peace and Blessing
