Hey Everyone welcome to our Ancient Near Eastern Advent Devotion, we hope you are having a great Holiday season. Advent is defined as the arrival of a noble person or event, and we here at Critical Thinking Aloud love the Advent Season.
Many of you are probably familiar that all of our teachings which we provide through out the year have one thing in common. They focus heavily on the Old Testament and the ancient Near Eastern biblical authors worldview. We love the OT and ascribe its importance to the fact that it serves basically the same purpose as the Advent Season does for the Church. To herald the arrival of the noblest of all people who ever live, Jesus the Messiah.
Our Ancient Near Easter Advent Devotional
This year Critical Thinking Aloud wants to make available to you an Advent devotion like you have never seen before. We want to provide for you a unique reflection upon the scriptures this Advent season by mixing both our passion for teaching the ancient Near Eastern biblical authors worldview, and our love of Advent, in one devotional.
Each week of Advent we are going to be looking into in the ancient Near Eastern Israelites’ view of their single God displayed to people in the form of 2 powers. Over the four weeks of the Advent calendar we will take a glimpse at how the invisible God made Himself visible through the second person of the Godhead (more than one personage) in the Old Testaments.
Critical Thinking Aloud exists to help others look at the scriptures from a new perspective in hope that they may gain a greater understanding of the scriptures to apply them to their lives. May the Lord richly bless and protect you throughout this Holiday Season.
