Can a person become an accidental pagan simply by participating in alleged pagan acts? Does the act of celebrating alleged pagan festivals make you an active member of a pagan cult?

There is a movement inside Christianity that would acknowledge that a person who is guilty of these things would be considered a pagan.

I want to suggest today that a person could no more become a pagan by doing these things than a person could become a christian by attending Church or simply by celebrating in a worship service.

Why ?

Believing Loyalty. Participation in christian activities cannot make you a christian. Only by placing your believing loyalty in Jesus can one become a christian. This is the Gospel.

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Romans 10:9-10

Doing alleged pagan acts or celebrating alleged pagan festavils cannot make you a pagan. You would have to pledge your believing loyalty in something to become a pagan.

Whether it is craving pumpkins or going trick or treating on Halloween. Decorating a Christmas Tree’s or partaking in other Christmas traditions durning the Christmas season. Hunting for eggs or giving a basket of candy on Easter.

If you have not sworn you allegiance to anything you are not a pagan by doing these things.

All christian acknowledge that the only way you can become a christian is by placing your belief in Jesus. For the same reason all christians should profess that no one can become a pagan without placing their believing loyalty in something.
